Queer Writes Zine Launch

Come one, come all! Queer Writes is launching their fourth anthology right here at Gut Level. They've got an incredible selection of pieces to read for us from their zine on Hope and Fear. Bringing together a wide variety of poetry and prose, this zine explores the ways that fear and hope can rot, sprout, and bloom in all of us.

If you're a shy or timid artist thinking about sharing your work, this is the night for you! Along with scheduled readings, Queer Writes is hosting an open mic to cap the night with songs, poetry, prose, and whatever will tickle your pickle (or lack thereof). Priority will be given to people who sign up first as well as those with original pieces.

Now a little about those rambunctious kids: Queer Writes is a Sheffield-based community writing group for everyone who isn't a straight man (ew-- tomato, tomato, tomato). The group establishes a safe space to explore writing from the creepiest crevices to the cringiest saccharine without the gatekeeper's judgement on what constitutes literary excellence.

If you're interested in joining or hearing more about Queer Writes, check em out on Instagram at @queerwrites.sheffield or shoot an email over to queerwriteszine@gmail.com

This is a free event, with a suggested donation of £4 to keep Queer Writes going

As with all Gut Level hosted events, you must be a member to attend.
