This event brings together short films by East and Southeast Asian queer artists, including works by Minki Hong and Hyunjin La, alongside an additional short film (TBC), with the sound lecture performance Gut Feelings (Nam Huh & Ewan Knight) opening the programme.
Centred on Minki Hong’s Paradise (2023), the screening explores queer lives that have resisted documentation, particularly the under-historicised gay communities of Jongno, Seoul. Through experimental documentary and performative strategies, the films attend to oral histories, class divides, misrecognition, and desire.
Opening the evening, Gut Feelings establishes a shared affective ground, drawing on embodied knowledge, diaspora, and minor feelings, framing the screening as a collective and sensory encounter rather than a didactic presentation.
