CALL OUT for people to be involved in a collective 90 minute DJ set, as part of the Gut Level takeover of Site Gallery.

This event is organised by Gut Level’s sister groups: FLAW Collective and Working Them’s Club. We welcome all experience levels, marginalised genders and queer folk to collaborate in this b2b.

Each person will have 10 minutes to share sounds in response to Rafaël Rozendaal’s Permanent Distraction exhibition using CDJ’s. We will flow through a total of nine b2b’s over the session. This style is a development of FLAW Collective’s slower listening lockdown sessions, Tune[in], where people responded to a chosen theme with audio pieces. However, for this event we are excited that we can (finally!) host an IRL audio collaboration.

The exhibition is open now Tuesday - Saturday, 10AM - 6PM. Entry is free, but Site Gallery do ask that you book a timed ticket before visiting. 

FLAW members are planning to visit the space together on Wednesday 10th November at 5:30PM, so feel free to pop along at the same time :-)

The Gut Level takeover runs Saturday 20th November, so you will need to be free on this date for the b2b2b2b2b2b2b2b2b2b.

Permanent Distraction forces us to confront the slippage between our physical and digital realities, bringing bodies physically into the space of the internet. Rozendaal pushes us to think about physical interaction with the internet, confronting what we think of as real, and what IRL (in real life) means when we now spend so much of our lives online.
