Pattern Club #8: Introduction to livecoding music in Strudel *Full*

Live coding is where people write code while it is running, usually to make live music or visuals. It's a lot easier than it sounds, thanks to environments made for artists like Strudel and TidalCycles.

In this workshop we’ll be doing an introduction to making music using the  Strudel system for live coding musical patterns. Strudel is version of TidalCycles that’s available in the web browser.

To participate, you just need to bring a laptop and some headphones so you can have a go at live coding yourself. Absolutely no experience of coding or anything like that necessary!!

The workshop will be lead by local Algorave instigators/organisers/artists who have been running Pattern Club workshops and events. Sheffield is a strong centre for the Algorave movement, where people live code to make music for people to dance to, now spread to over 100 cities around the world.
