Understanding Plants w/ The Merry Earth Collective

A plant identification workshop hosted by David Botcherby of the Merry Earth Collective. We'll be talking about how and why to appreciate our green friends, and going through the basics of how to identify plants in the wild.

If you've ever been interested in what that little flower is growing out of the pavement, or maybe you know a few plants but don't know how to take it further, this workshop is for you! There'll be a presentation on the diversity of wild plants in the UK, and how to recognise the most common and recognisable families of plants. We'll go then go through the most useful apps, books, and websites to use, and apply these to some real life specimens - feel free to bring along pictures or specimens for us to look at!

Hosted by Botch, an experienced field botanist from the moors of the Peak District to the forests of Ontario, Canada. Currently working at the Wildlife Trust updating the Ancient Woodland Inventory, Botch is keen to share his love for the natural world.
