Sarra Wild
Sarra Wild is a cultural curator/ producer, sound designer, and DJ currently based in London. Founder of club night and arts platform OH141, performing at and curating events around the UK and internationally.
Born to Algerian and Senegalese parents and raised in Glasgow, Wild’s early sonic genealogy spans from Algerian Rai and Lebanese pop music that they were immersed in at home, before graduating to radical French rap via the La Haine soundtrack and #UndergroundResistance during forays into the Scottish city’s infamous techno underground.
This upbringing of heady non-Western melodies and rhythms, Afrofuturism, and fearless experimentalism underpins Wild’s approach to DJing, driving their dedication to exciting new music and artists from and of the diaspora.
MYNA
MYNA, founder of calabash! and core team member of Mondo Radio and the Beatriarchy, is a multi genre DJ hailing from northern Nigerian heritage, but grew up in north of the UK. A resident of Oroko radio, Amina has supported the likes of DJ Lag, Sherelle and Joy Orbison.
MYNA brings an expansive range of music from the African diaspora and beyond, focussing on drum heavy, bass heavy music, with a flair for mixing this with afro-centric selections
After a course with Algo|Afro futures she has also expanded into the world of live music production with code, showcasing her flair for rhythm and bass.
Omari
Sheffield based DJ and producer Omari draws inspiration from diasporic soundsystem culture, rooted in the ideas and ethos of Afrofuturism.
Exploring the space between Street Soul, Dancehall, Dub and Hip Hop, to the global club sounds of Kuduro and Baile Funk, with a focus on ruff, stripped-back bassweight.
