LINTD & Porter Brook - Nigerian sound artist LINTD (Life Is Never That Deep) and Sheffield born, Leipzig-based producer Porter Brook formed a bond in Manchester over a shared love of electronic experimentation. As they drip feed their ever expanding collaborative works through pieces such as LINTD’s ‘Deemon’ and the White Hotel Live recording of ‘Smooch soundsytem’ on Porter Brook's ‘Second Born’ label, they bring their audience into their dialogue, LINTD pursuing their vision of reclaiming Black Utopia through the technologies of sound, and Porter Brook responding with his unique ability to create living, visceral landscapes through rapturous sonic design.
Nic Krog - As an artist, Nic Krog’s signature is a distinct and volatile blend of bass-heavy club music juxtaposed with subversive sound art and spoken word. Through releases on ‘Opal Tapes’ as well as their own ‘Foul Up’ imprint, Nic Krog’s output amalgamates influences from ruminative soundscapes to ultra-modern club music. Their artistic trajectory is characterized through a diaristic approach, recounting mental processes and psychological baggage from growing up as a queer outlier in a smalltown of Denmark. The work traces the metamorphosis of the colloquial introvert to their negotiation of place in the hedonistic capital of Berlin, Germany.
