Furious Styles – DIY Drift
Wednesday 27 January 7PM via Zoom
To start the online series off again after a winter break, Furious Styles (FKA DJ SagePay) leads a discussion on the weird and experimental margins of dance music. Drawing on his experiences as a resident DJ on Rinse FM, he will be chatting about why he’s now chosen to move to a DIY model with the creation of his digital label, HI-NRG, and mix series Furious FM, both focusing on spotlighting unknown and underrated producers.
As well as this discussion and Q&A, Ryan will also be recording a file organisation tutorial with music categorisation tips and tricks to help you get ordered. (you might as well finally get round to it, there are minimal other things to do rn) This video will be up on our YouTube channel at the beginning of February.
Furious styles (FKA DJ SagePay) is a DJ and producer from Essex currently living in South London. Since 2014, he has held residencies with Rinse FM, 1020 Radio, Threads (FKA 199 Radio), Limbo, Public Internet Radio and more, along with appearances on NTS, Rinse France, LVLZ, BBC Bristol, and Reprezent Radio.
In 2017, he founded Hi-NRG, a stepping stone label releasing music by those who are underrated / unknown and need more spotlight in the dance music scene. [Artists include: Illumination Boiz, Hard Fantasy, Diessa, B:Thorough, First Circle]
