Genevieve Dawson
Genevieve is a songwriter-composer, performer and community music worker. Her debut album was championed by Guy Garvey and Tom Robinson, loved by BBC 6 Music and Jazz FM, and featured on the BBC Introducing mixtape. Her work explores love and grief through rich electro-acoustic textures, drawing comparisons to Feist, Fiona Apple and Joni Mitchell. In 2024 she wrote the music for A Child of Science at the Bristol Old Vic (***** The Times) and is releasing music with her duo project, Loa, produced by The Vernon Spring and out on Lima Limo Records. As a performer she has worked at Shakespeare’s Globe as a singer-actor, and plays in the band of Anna B Savage (City Slang). Beyond writing and performance Genevieve is a social justice facilitator and community music worker, and the founder-director of South East Queer Choir.
